Kelsey HurleyI attended the University of Northern Iowa and received an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education. I pursued a degree in education because I want to be able to influence the future of our world. Education is very important to me and I want to be able to help my future students. I love kids and believe they have just as much to teach me as I will have to teach them. All of the experiences I have had have made me very excited to become a teacher! My time at UNI has helped me prepare for this career. Each field experience has made me more confident in my teaching and eager to have my own classroom of students to learn with! I have learned that teaching has more "behind-the-scenes" work than I ever imagined as a student. Teachers spend a large amount of time planning, preparing, modifying, reflecting, and editing for the benefit of their students. I feel that I have grown strongly in certain areas throughout my education at UNI. I have become more flexible, more confident, and more knowledgeable about the different areas of teaching. Although, I know I still have a lot of things to learn and continue to improve on, because as a teacher I know it is important to never stop learning for the benefit of your students.
